Winter Wonderland

Today it is safe for me to say that I like snow, as long as my family and I are not driving in it!  Between Dane's three hour drive home from teaching voice students and my two and a half hour drive I didn't have many warm fuzzy feelings toward snow.  That being said, I love looking at fresh snow that hasn't been touched, trampled, or discolored.  I don't think our poor little Boston Terrier feels the same.  She now stands about five feet away from us when we pick up her leash to go outside.

Completely switching gears, I really love how just moving a few inches can completely change the outcome of a picture.  When I saw the snow built up on the railing of a neighboring apartment complex I knew I wanted to capture it.  The first few pictures I took were at eye level with the snow.  Simply moving my camera down about three inches brought the top of the railing out of the middle "dead zone" and allowed me to capture more of the ornate parts below the railing.  I've been trying to challenge myself to explore different viewpoints for my pictures and have enjoyed many of the results.
